Bereavement and Consolation

Those who participate in the Bereavement and Consolation Ministry assist when there is a loss in the parish family. Members organize and provide a meal for the family following the Mass of Christian Burial and will also have a Mass said for the faithful departed on behalf of the parish family. If needed, we can also have someone stay in the family’s home during the services, help with transportation to and from the airport, or help the family in other ways. Throughout the month of November, beginning with All Souls Day on November 2nd, we honor the memories of the parish members, and family members of parishioners, who have passed on during the previous year. Consolation is a new responsibility of the committee and the intent is to help family members who would like support for a longer period of time.
