RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (R.C.I.A.)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a JOURNEY OF FAITH which runs from August 28 to May 2008 with meetings each Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

JUSTFAITH, a formation program for parishioners interested in social
ministry, will be offered beginning this fall. JustFaith offers an intensive
study of the Christian’s call to address the needs of the world. The thirtyweek
program includes weekly meetings, regular reading, retreats and
immersion experiences. Participation will be limited to the first 15 registrants.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES ASKS YOUR HELP WITH ANNUAL APPEAL

Our Father in Heaven exemplifies the love that is so evident in the Prodigal Son’s father who loved both of his sons so deeply. He rejoiced when his son returned home even though he had squandered his inheritance. He also forgave the elder son for his self-righteous condemnation of his younger
brother. As we reflect on this story in today’s gospel, we are reminded of God’s love for us and our need to ask our father to instill in us a generous nature in both words and actions. Last weekend, Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, kicked off its 2007 annual Appeal with a goal of $2.4 million.
