music ministry

"address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs and playing to the Lord in your hearts."
ephesians 5:19

Music has historically been an integral part of worship within the Catholic Church. Music Ministry at St. Thomas More strives to follow the standards of liturgy as outlined in the Roman Missal while encouraging the participation of all present.

The Parish Choir is responsible for the music at the various liturgies including all weekly masses, monthly Vespers, and special services for Holy Days. With repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant to works by contemporary composers, the choir is made up of volunteers and semi-professionals.

The Childrens Choir, open to young people in grades 1-6, rehearses throughout the school year. Assuming an active role in the liturgy, they are learning basic vocal skills as well as the importance of music within the Church.
